PFAS Removal From Your Family’s Water With One Efficient System

Water all over the country has frequently been positive for lead, cysts, and PFOA/PFOS, and our area is not exempt. These chemicals have been found to exceed the levels set forth by health advisory organizations and may cause health problems.

Eighteen million Americans live in communities where the water systems are in violation of the law. As a mater of fact, the federal agency in charge of making sure those systems are safe not only know these issues exist, they’ve done little to stop them, according to information provided by CNN, which cites multiple sources and water experts.

Our goal is not to scare anyone into getting water treatment, however, educating our local community about water quality is a top priority. We’ve worked with many local families to improve their water and to provide peace-of-mind, knowing the water they drink and bathe in is free of harmful contaminants.

Contact us today to learn more about our professionally installed and serviced drinking water system that reduces PFOS contamination. Fill out the contact form or call (727) 756-0140!

What are PFAS, PFOA, PFOS and What’s The Difference Between Them?

In a nutshell, PFAS stands for per- and polyflouralkyl substances, which are synthetic chemicals used to make everyday products we all use (your cell phone, your non-stick pans, some food packaging, most things that used to be made at 3M are made of PFAS). PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid, also referred to as C8) and PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonate) are simply two types of PFAS, and the difference between the two is the number of carbon atoms in the chain of polyflouralkyl. GenX is also considered a PFAS contaminant.

These chemicals have been around for almost 80 years when they started being manufactured in the 1940s. Unfortunately, a lot of chemical waste ends up being dumped in the water supply we drink from. Imagine 80 years of chemical waste contaminating the water we use every day.

The Water Quality Association (WQA.org) tells us exposure to PFAS can happen when we eat food grown in soil contaminated by PFAS or drink water that has been contaminated and not properly filtered out. It can also be released through the household products we use to clean our homes.

Some potential health risks of PFAS exposure are cancer, a weakened immune system, fertility issues, low birth weight for infants, abnormal levels for cholesterol and thyroid hormones, and inflammation of the liver. Other health-related issues are still under research.

How Can I Know I Have Safe Drinking Water?

If you want to know if the water in your area is affected by PFAS contamination, check out the EWG PFAS map below of known areas affected in the United States click here to see the map of known areas affected in the United States.

Sayler's Suncoast Water also offers free water tests to homeowners in the Pinellas Park area. Call (727) 756-0140 to schedule your free water test now!

Our Solution:

PFOA and PFOS chemicals are bio-permanent, resistant to direct oxidation, and do not break down naturally in the environment or the human body. Sayler's Suncoast Water provides a unique system, to successfully remove these chemicals and is installed where the water line enters your home or business.

Our systems have been tested and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 58 by NSF International, and not only removes sediments and PFAS contaminants, but also eliminates odors and and improves taste – giving you bottled quality (or better) water right at your tap.

Sayler's Suncoast Water was on time as promised. The technicians were... through and neat. We discussed the drain line from the water softener when the unit regenerates. Typically the line is run above the ground. I envisioned problems with the line catching on the lawn mower and as foot traffic passed that way. I asked the technician if there was a different way to vent the tank. He described a another drain style but didn't have the parts on the truck to install. I've called the home number and requested a French Drain style to be installed. The technician was through, before he departed, he gave me a quick overview of the operation and maintenance of the unit. Four stars, soon to be five after the improved drain system is installed.read more

Hold the phone! An HONEST COMPANY ACTUALLY STILL EXISTS!! We had an older... ( 16+ years) whole house water softener. I called Sayler's Suncoast Water to ask if it can be rebuilt. Tom came out the next day & gave me the estimate. He was polite, professional & knowledgeable. He didn't pressure us to do it immediately. I called them to get the work done. The next day he arrived, 30 minutes EARLIER than scheduled (unlike most, who arrive late). He explained what he was going to do, did the work in a professional manner & when he was done, presented me with the bill. Imagine my surprise when he charged me for EXACTLY what he did, which ended up costing at the LOWER END of the estimate!! He didn’t inflate it by fixing or replacing parts which didn’t need fixing or replacing just to inflate the bill. I will recommend SAYLER’S SUNCOAST WATER to everyone! In this world full of dishonest people, it is a WELCOME CHANGE to work with such an HONEST Company! Thank you! ( BTW, I had another company come out a few days earlier & that man was trying to feed me some sales pitch)read more
